Well, the cat’s out of the bag! We’re saying goodbye to our first “Casa Waller” and beginning the (undoubtedly) long process of finding the next home to call our own. We’ve decided to try our hand at selling ourselves—John’s parents did it for both of their homes, after all. So wish us luck as we begin searching for the perfect second home and the perfect buyer for our current one, too.
Although it’s certainly jumping the gun, we toured one new home already and have had a blast dreaming about ways to fill our hypothetical new space. A new dining set, a THIRD BEDROOM, a dedicated studio, a YARD! All of these things are running through our (or at least my) mind at warp speed. Before we even listed our home “For Sale,” I had a brand new Pinterest board created for inspiration—Take a peek at the full shebang right here, including brass hardware, formal dining rooms, gray cabinetry and decks galore.

We’re so excited to have you follow along with us, and ask for your patience as we deal with what will likely be an emotional and loooong process. We’re in no major rush and so will take our time. At the moment we are looking for low priced international moving companies to take care of our stuff. But this is also by way of explanation for my reduction in weekly postings. It seems a bit silly to work on lots of new project customized to a home we plan on vacating in the near (enough) future. But you know I can’t stop entirely…So stay tuned for lots of tips on home staging, “For Sale By Owner” marketing and all of the good/bad/ugly in between!
P.S. Locals, if you know of anyone in the market, feel free to email me—dreamgreendiy {at} gmail {dot} com. Let’s get this show on the road, shall we?!
I am in escrow to buy my first home and the process is long and stressful, so I cannot imagine pairing selling a home with buying! However, imagining a new home (thanks to your beautiful design inspiration) with extra space and more decorating is the way to get through the irritants! I wish I had saved more for immediate redecorating, but as long as the house is move in ready as far as comfort and reliability, I will be grateful.
Best of luck, can’t wait to watch the story unfold!
Thanks for the perspective and encouragement, Brandi! Congrats on your first home!!
Yaay Carrie! Congrats! That’s so exciting. We are putting our house on the market next week, so I totally understand where you’re at. We, however, will be downsizing so Im really excited for this new adventure. I love all your inspiration images. We will probably end up renting in between selling and buying just so we have the opportunity to really be selective about our home choice and aren’t rushed to settle on a house based on the current limited inventory. I cant wait to follow along with you on your journey.
That’s really awesome insight!! I appreciate that and wish you all the best with your sale!
Good luck searching for a new home!
Thanks!
