Have you ever had that moment when you slip into a really good set of sheets—maybe at a nice hotel or boutique bed and breakfast—and think to yourself, “Oh, my gosh…These are really great sheets!” Well (no joke), that’s exactly what I thought when I tested out our guest bed after outfitting the mattress with this new set of sheets, pillowcases, and a duvet.

They’re from Mellanni, a brand based on Amazon that I recently worked with to create Instagram content, and even though they didn’t expect me to write a blog post, I was happy to give them the bonus traffic because these sheets really are pretty darn magical. I’ve tried lots of bedding brands over the years, and even though I’ve never been disappointed by any of them, there are only one or two that I’d consider “the best.” So far, these from Mellanni fit the bill.

Lately, I’ve been drawn to the look of darker bedding that adds contrast to a room. I thought I’d experiment with that aesthetic in our guest room, and it has been such a hit with our family—including the fur babes, as you can see above. For sheets we went with the Mellanni Iconic Set in “Burnt Sand,” and I chose their duvet cover in “Rust.”

That pop of earthy color is exactly what our guest room needed, don’t you think? And everything is so deliciously soft and silky, even after multiple washes. In fact, I think they’ve gotten even softer after washing. They’re also wrinkle-, fade-, and stain-resistant. I might just end up sleeping in our guest room until holiday visitors take over the room later this fall/winter! Or, better yet, I’ll order a king-size set for our room.

I love the way those rust-colored linens pop against our guest room’s beige wallpaper. I don’t plan to take down the vintage wallpaper, so I’m limited in what I can do design-wise in this room. Choosing dark bedding is my way of infusing this light-colored space with contrast and interest without touching the vintage 1960s wall covering.
