I’m back to talk more wallpaper with you! I started this particular series on my newsletter, Home Matters, where I explained how I would design around one of my wallpaper designs with Fancy Walls. Although I’ve grown super comfortable with wallpaper as a design element in a room over the years, I know it’s not in everyone’s wheel house, so that’s why I thought it might be helpful to share a roundup of accents that complement one individual wallpaper pattern. This is a jumping off point to help get your inspiration going, and to show you what I’m envisioning in my head when I consider adding wallpaper to a room. The particular pattern in today’s mood board is my Sand Retro Talbott Faux Grasscloth wallpaper. Since it’s a neutral color, I was able to go a little bolder with the furniture and art that I chose. It’s still an overall relaxing design, but those pops of rich color and texture make the room feel more multi-dimensional and interesting.
Designing Around My Faux Grasscloth Wallpaper:
2. Faux string of fishhooks plant
5. Dresser
6. Soft blue/green paint color
13. Nightstand
14. Bed frame
15. Faux jade plant
17. Area rug
18. Table lamp
Spoiler alert: I really am planning on putting this wallpaper up in our bedroom, which is why I included all of our actual furniture in the mood board, like our nightstands and bed frame. Even the soft blue/green paint color I picked out mimics the tone of the limewash we have on the lower half of our space as you would see it today. This design is my dream of how our bedroom could evolve, so I hope you’ll stay tuned for the real transformation to come using this design as inspiration. What’s your favorite thing in the mood board? Would you try this bedroom design out in your own home?
