I’ve always loved the concept of buying digital art for a budget-friendly price, and then custom-printing it to hang on our walls, but I’ve never really found a great solution for the actual printing of said digital art. How do I take things from point A to point B so that I end up with a good looking piece of art? It’s not as easy as you’d think! I’ve tried printing at Big Box Store photo kiosks, but the quality is never reliable, so it feels like a waste. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending because I finally found a viable solution: CanvasChamp.

Sometimes when I’m in the middle of a time-sensitive room makeover, I need the right artwork for our walls in a very specific color palette and style, and I need it like yesterday. The problem is that, living in a small town, our ready-to-buy art is limited at the few large stores we have nearby, and I rarely have the budget to buy framed art from boutique retail shops online.

For this quick bedroom update, I thought I’d experiment by ordering the perfect digital art files from Etsy, and then ordering them as canvas prints from CanvasChamp. Etsy is full of vast amounts of modern art files at affordable prices, so I knew that I could find the perfect art for our space (without having to even change out of my pajamas or get out of bed). I ended up finding an idyllic colorful landscape print, this painterly abstract, and uplifting word art, too, all done in the same cohesive blue/orange earth tones to fit the vibe of our primary bedroom.

With my files chosen, I then hopped over to CanvasChamp where I was able to customize everything down to the type of hanging hardware. I was first given the option of choosing my canvas shape (they have all sorts, like round, oval, and even triangle, but I went with a traditional “Large” rectangle), and then I could choose the wrap style along the sides of the canvas, and the printing style. I ordered all three of my art pieces with mirror image borders, HD printing for an ultra crisp look, and standard fabric with an open back. Their website automatically finds the right coupons so you get the best deal, which I appreciated.

The total for all three of my canvas prints was around $125. I would have paid that much (or more) from a Big Box Store for the single 30-by-30-inch piece I hung over our bed, so I’m over the moon with this final cost for my trio of new art canvases. The best part for me as a designer, though, is that I’m able to choose from practically limitless art options on Etsy knowing that I can have them custom printed from CanvasChamp and shipped quickly, too. The price is right, and the quality is awesome (check out the close-ups I put in today’s post so you can see the texture and crispness of the art). What more could I ask for? Comment and let me know which of the three pieces I printed for our bedroom is your favorite. Mine is the landscape.
