Eureka Ergonomic Rolling Desk Chair Review

I feel the need to backtrack on a few points I’ve made this year about office seating. In the past, I’ve touted the merits of using a non-traditional desk chair, but I was recently asked to review a designer rolling office chair, and I discovered that I really have been missing out all this time! I still love the concept of using unexpected options at your desk, but now that I know better, there really is something to be said for truly ergonomic seating that supports you throughout hours of work tasks.

This is the Mathias Napa Leather Executive Office Chair from Eureka Ergonomic, and I think we can all agree (if you’re familiar with my interiors style) that this chair was pretty much made for me. The mid-century inspired shape and design are the perfect fit for our 1960s ranch. The head support, in particular, is a favorite feature of mine. I’ve never had a desk chair that supports my head and shoulders like this, and the impact that it has on my comfort level while working at my computer is enormous. I also adore the buttery soft feel of the leather. I’ve been hyper vigilant not to let our cats up on the chair so that I can keep the leather as pristine as it looked straight out of the box when it was delivered. So far, so good. It was also really easy to assemble, by the way!

I even rearranged the layout of my home office to make my new Mathias chair more of a focal point when looking or walking into the space. I moved my desk to the front-facing wall of the office, and moved the other furniture around to fill in. One thing that I wanted to make sure I maintained in the functionality of the room was space for my new rolling desk chair to actually roll. I wanted to put a rug down, but I wasn’t sure that I could use one that took up the entire space since it might disrupt the flow of my new desk chair’s wheels. To compromise, I laid down an inexpensive half-size rug that adds softness and color to the room, but doesn’t encroach on the area where my chair wheels around. It’s working like a charm.

^^This little dresser cabinet is where we feed our cats, by the way. We put their bowls up high to keep the dog from getting into their food, and we store all of their cans and dishes in the drawers for easy access.

I know that a designer ergonomic executive chair is an investment, but I consider it a worthy one now that I’ve had the chance to test this chair out everyday in my home office.
