I may not be making official resolutions this new year, but one thing that I do feel strongly about in terms of goal-setting is a need to focus my creative energies on making ceramics. DGD Pottery is such an integral part of my arts brand, and while I do think that I’ve come a long way throughout the past eight years working at our local pottery studio on my own work and as an assistant on Jake’s work, the most extreme growth has happened just in the last six months alone since putting a throwing room in our home. I’ve learned so much in my solitude (I guess I just work best on my own!), and have sold more in the past six months than I did in the previous seven years combined. The world seems to be able to sense my excitement, and the response has been thrilling.

I plan on sharing a lot more about my pottery business here on the blog in 2026 alongside my normal home décor accent and styling features. I hope you’re just as giddy about that as I am, and if you’re looking to add to your own pottery collection, you’re always welcome to visit my Etsy shop this way. I’ve got the shop stocked with tons of new products from my final firings of 2025, including hand drawn floral mugs, ergonomic curvy cups, and ruffly tumblers that come with their own reusable glass straw (if you’re iffy about glass, just shoot me a message on Etsy and I can swap yours out of a reusable silicone straw). I also debuted a new product this holiday season: a vertical spoon rest that comes with a metal frame and handmade ceramic plate, as you’ll see pictured below.

This week in my pottery studio I’ve been developing new designs for bowls, and hope to have those ready to add to my Etsy shop next month. Keep an eye out for lots of refreshes this winter as I experiment with all of the creative ideas that I have churning around in my head, and please never hesitate to comment or send me a message if you have suggestions for other shapes I haven’t made yet or custom orders that you think would be a good fit for my ceramics style.

What are your favorite types of ceramics to collect for your home? As a special bonus for DGD readers, you can download the ceramics styling guide that DGD Pottery shoppers get free with any purchase from my shop (yours with no purchase necessary as a “thank you” for being a blog reader). I hope the guide helps inspire you to look at your own ceramics collection with fresh eyes.
