For The Gents

Time to talk about the dudes (if you missed my gift guides for the home and the ladies, click the links!)…Some say that women are hard to shop for, but I think guys are IMPOSSIBLE. It’s like pulling teeth to get John to commit to a list, so I have to rely on my own two cents to get some creatively stuffed packages beneath the tree by December 25th. Luckily, despite the lack of direction, guys are often easily pleased, so it’s a safe bet that a well thought out gift will bring a lopsided smile to his face and you can breathe easy.

To come up with this list, I put myself in the mindset of my honey – What makes him tick? What does he voice excitement over? What does he ask for or talk about in passing? Well the man loves him some beer, so a numbered beer tasting set from Crate and Barrel is a safe bet. He’s a runner, so a cool techie armband for his iPod is also a good idea. And finally, anything with a quirky shape, mood or concept is sure to awaken the kid in him, thus the addition of a Frankenstein shaped cookie cutter, a mug with a face on it and Sasquatch iPhone cover. If you want to score some major points, a swanky Apple TV is always a good idea, although I’m still not going to guarantee a reaction like this kid – I think it’s a guy thing to seem largely underwhelmed when given a surprise.

If you have any recon tips for shopping for dudes, PLEASE share – I think we can all learn a thing or two from each other…And if your man gives you a numbered list with links and bullet points and color choices, please recognize that you ARE the luckiest woman in the world.

P.S. I double checked the prices for the products this morning and saw that a number of them had gone on sale, so if you see something you’re interested in, see the linked up list BELOW the graphic for updates prices.

P.P.S. If you want more, click over to my latest Glitter Guide feature here – I pulled together a list for the DIYer in your life (and had a BLAST doing it).

Gift Guide: For The Ladies

For The Ladies

Kate Spade New York ‘Mikas Pond – Stacy’ Wallet, $100 | Elva Fields Gold Earrings, on sale for $32 | Floral Heart Print, Rifle Paper Co., $24.00 | Paperfashion “Comme Des Garçons” iPhone case, $35 | Moccasin Cally Slipper, $36.95 | DKNY Sparkle Strap Watch, $135 | Snow Bunny Bow Gloves, $17.99 | Squirreled Away Tape Dispenser, $24 | Tocca Solid Perfume, $30 | Silver Skull Bangle, $24

Continuing on with the 2012 gift guides (see “For The Home” here), we’re moving on to chat about the ladies today. I’ve curated this morning’s must-haves for your gal pal or female love interest with one simple concept in mind – What am I coveting for Christmas? My number 1 wish list item can be seen in the top left corner of the graphic above – Hint: It rhymes with “Trait Aide”…But we’ve got a whole schmorgesboard of goodies that I’d squeel with delight to unwrap – silver bangles, wooden animals, artful iPhone covers and a particularly lustful gold watch.

If anything you see here is a little out of budget, simply Google the general phrase and see if you can get more inexpensive hits (ex. for the $135 watch, Google something like “gold glitter watch” and you’ll get tons of possibilities that run the rampant in pricing options). Use this gift guide as, well…a GUIDE for your own shopping prospects.

As always, if you have any other ideas or want to share one of your OWN most wanted Christmas gifts, do so in the comments!
