Named a BHG Top 10 DIY Blog!!

BHG-Blogger-Award

Did you hear the MIND-BLOWING news?? Better Homes and Gardens named Dream Green DIY a top 10 DIY blog in their 2014 Blogger Awards! I have been pinching myself (literally!) ever since hearing the news, and can’t quite fathom how my name showed up in a category sporting other blogs like Young House Love and Vintage Revivals. You won’t hear ME demanding a recount, though ::wink, wink:: Be sure to check out the rest of the awardees linked to below, and don’t forget to cast your vote for the top 5 in each category!

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I can’t let this post conclude without offering a BIG, juicy kiss to BHG for being so supportive and encouraging, and to you guys as well for your nominations and loyalty throughout this journey. I can’t possibly think of a better excuse to celebrate my third year of blogging in a big, big way. Now, if only I could invite all of you over for blogiversary cocktails and crafting…I’m gonna try to make that happen next March.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

Well, the cat’s out of the bag! We’re saying goodbye to our first “Casa Waller” and beginning the (undoubtedly) long process of finding the next home to call our own. We’ve decided to try our hand at selling ourselves—John’s parents did it for both of their homes, after all. So wish us luck as we begin searching for the perfect second home and the perfect buyer for our current one, too.

Although it’s certainly jumping the gun, we toured one new home already and have had a blast dreaming about ways to fill our hypothetical new space. A new dining set, a THIRD BEDROOM, a dedicated studio, a YARD! All of these things are running through our (or at least my) mind at warp speed. Before we even listed our home “For Sale,” I had a brand new Pinterest board created for inspiration—Take a peek at the full shebang right here, including brass hardware, formal dining rooms, gray cabinetry and decks galore.

We’re so excited to have you follow along with us, and ask for your patience as we deal with what will likely be an emotional and loooong process. We’re in no major rush and so will take our time. But this is also by way of explanation for my reduction in weekly postings. It seems a bit silly to work on lots of new project customized to a home we plan on vacating in the near (enough) future. But you know I can’t stop entirely…So stay tuned for lots of tips on home staging, “For Sale By Owner” marketing and all of the good/bad/ugly in between!

P.S. Locals, if you know of anyone in the market, feel free to email me—dreamgreendiy {at} gmail {dot} com. Let’s get this show on the road, shall we?!
