DIY Red + White + Blue Painted Tote

In case you missed it, I made the virtual leap over to Glitter Guide yesterday to explain how to make your own DIY red, white and blue painted tote in honor of Independence Day! The process is super simple—first, tape out the bottom half of the bag, then spray paint it red and finally hand paint on the white and blue stripes using the ridges in the straw to guide your edges. Easy peasy. Did I mention that the bag itself was a $3 score from the Target dollar section? Can’t beat that!

For all of the details, you can hop over to Glitter Guide, but I couldn’t help but show off a couple of outtakes from the mini photoshoot that I had with the bag right here on DGD—not because of my camera wielding abilities (because, let’s face it, those can ALWAYS use work), but because of my dad’s gorgeous hand-planted wildflower field! Nothing felt more summery to me and set the tone to a “T” for my holiday themed tote.
