In my mind, 2014 might as well be dubbed “The Year Of The Failed Headboard Hunt.” Try as I might, I could not find the perfect crowning piece to suit our modern style, not to mention our flair for all things retro slash contemporary. So, as I’m sure you’ve guessed by now, I finally decided it was high time that I put my hands to good use and make one.
I customized this bad boy right on down to the last painter’s tape line and couldn’t possibly be more in love with the final look. Click through to Hunker for the step-by-step break down on how our handmade headboard came to be!
THIS. IS. BEAUTIFUL. I love the pattern, and stained birch is always a good thing. Would love to see a wider shot with more of your room!
Yay!! So glad you love it!! Wide shots coming soon =)
How much did this project cost you? I LOVE this!
Thank you so much! It wasn’t the cheapest project I’ve ever done—maybe around $80—but well worth the investment, and I think cheaper than had it been store bought. So glad you love it!
this is absolutely STUNNING!!! I am a in love with everything I see here!!
I’m so glad! Thank you!!
The perfection with which you have done this is commendable. This looks so neat and precisely done. I have seen DIYs where people try and do something similar with their bedroom doors, but this is unusual. It looks really nice, that white and wooden color combination. 🙂
Loved it.
Thank you so much! Glad you like it!
