Life with our three cats is so much fun. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world, but I’d be lying if I said that it was easy all the time, especially when it comes to maintaining a clean, good-smelling home with three felines running around. We’re constantly vacuuming fur, tidying up their toys, shooing them off the counters, and sweeping up dirt that they’ve dug out from our houseplants. And I haven’t even talked about their litter boxes yet!

We currently have four active litter boxes on our main floor (plus a fifth one in the basement in case one of them accidentally gets stuck down there while we have the doors open), and I scoop them every single day. It’s a lot to maintain, and the task often falls to me as I’m trying to get our dinner on the table since my routine is to scoop the litter when I feed our pets in the evening. Don’t worry—lots of hand-washing happens in between. Sometimes I’ve wondered how I could simplify this part of my day, and I think I may have found the perfect solution: the Self-Cleaning Litter Box CS106 from homerunPET.

We recently set this smart litter box up in our back lounge living space, and it has made our routine so much easier. This self-cleaning box is oversized, yet somehow still maintains a nice sleek look thanks to its curvy silhouette and minimal color palette. It fit perfectly in our cat closet, and was specifically designed for multi-cat and large-cat households, like ours.
The spacious hygienic interior contains the mess easily without making our cats feel uncomfortable or claustrophobic (Stanley actually curled up inside the litter box for a cat nap the first time he explored it!), and the Auto‑Refill litter system means I don’t even have to worry about replenishing the box with new litter as needed. The box does it for me from a reserve that I load into it ahead of time.

One of the reasons why I’ve always hesitated in the past to try a smart self-cleaning litter box is my concerns over safety. What if it turns on while our cats are inside? I don’t have to worry about that with this box, though, because it has built-in sensors that know when a cat is in the area in and around the box, plus fail-safes to ensure our cats always have an emergency exit. Most importantly, there are physical bumpers on the front of the unit that make the globe never fully close, so our cats won’t ever get stuck.
The other reason I hesitated to switch to a smart box is that I sort of like being aware of our cats’ litter habits. I think it’s important as pet parents to keep an eye on these things so we know if there’s a potential health concern. Thankfully, the Litter Box CS106 comes with a smart app that automatically logs details about the box’s use throughout the day. It’s good peace of mind knowing when the box is being put to work.

At any rate, the homerunPET team seems to have thought of everything with the design of this high tech litter box. Even an anxious pet parent like me can feel comfortable making this part of their cats’ routine, and it satisfies my all-important need for good design in our house, too. I genuinely think that this box looks great in our space, and have really been enjoying the extra time I now have added back to my schedule since I’m not manually scooping four litter boxes anymore. Maybe I need a second one for our sunroom! Click here to get more information and to see the box in action in other peoples’ homes.
Pssst…We’re also testing out the Pet-Friendly Space Heater PH20 and Smart Pet Feeder PF20 from homerunPET. See the heater in our living room this way on my Instagram, and the feeder in today’s blog post above. Both are a hit. Oh, and you can use code “DREAM20” to get an exclusive 20% off the space heater!
