12 Closet Lights To Choose From

12 Closet Lights To Choose From

I think I mentioned this idea in passing a couple of Fridays ago, but I still can’t decide: is it weird to invest a bit of money in a really pretty light fixture for a closet?

We have a walk-in closet in our master bedroom that we actually keep open 24/7. I’m not sure why we have this habit, but we kept the closet door open in our last house, too. Luckily, John and I are both Type A people who keep things tidy 99.9 percent of the time, so our closet is generally organized (meaning we don’t mind being able to look into it whenever we walk into our room). But because we keep that door open, I’m wondering if it’s time to give it some decorative love.

I recently added some white baskets to the shelves to keep our folded clothes hidden away and organized, which helped a lot, but I think it might be appropriate to install a nice updated light next. We’ve updated practically all the other fixtures in our house by this point, so it only seems natural to keep the light love going. Here’s a list of the 12 flush mount lights I’m currently considering for our mini closet makeover.

12 Closet Lights To Choose From:

1. Williamsburg Tucker Flush Mount

2. Sculptural Glass Globe Flush Mount

3. Bubble Glass Black Flush Mount Light

4. Oppenheimer 2-Light Outdoor Flush Mount

5. Bell White Flush Mount Light

6. Nina Alabaster Brass Flush Mount Light

7. Fabric Shade Flush Mount

8. Andante Industrial Ceiling Light Fixture

9. Industrial Ceiling Fixture

10. Floral Burst Flush Mount

11. Striae Ribbed Glass Flush Mount Light

12. Vintage Metal & Glass Ceiling Light

What do you think? Is it silly to invest money into this “room” in our house that only we see? I’m kinda of the mind that, if it makes me smile (which a new light would), then it’s worth the trouble and expense. Happily, a lot of those lights I linked to cost less than $100, so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for our budget. Let me know your opinions on the concept—and also your favorite pick from my list—in the comments below!

Weekend Inspiration: No. 16

Looks like I have another working weekend ahead of me, but, happily, it’s going to be a fun one. I’m working with Devils Backbone Brewing Company to produce and shoot a summer-themed entertaining story, and although I’m a little anxious about making sure I get all the shots I need, I’m excited to be collaborating with a brand that we already use and love.

We live about half an hour from their Basecamp Brewpub, so it’s one of our favorite restaurants to enjoy any day of the week. In fact, that’s where I went to celebrate my birthday this year, so I was really excited to get the email from their team about the possibility of teaming up. These are the serendipitous moments that make me realize I’m right where I need to be…Anyway, scroll on for a few of the links and stories that caught my eye this week, and let me know in the comments if you have news or links of your own to share.

7. On a more serious note, we were so sad to hear about the passing of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. If you or someone you know is struggling with depression, please don’t hesitate to check out (or pass along) this list of resources.
