Homemakers, by Brit Morin, of Brit + Co // Review + Giveaway

Chances are good that you’re familiar with Brit Moran and her crafty, creative website Brit + Co. Her name and brand are pretty widely known within the DIY world, and for good reason—this techie turned creative has built an empire worth noting thanks to her keen eye for trends and her perspective as a female business owner. And, happily for us as loyal and insatiable fans, she has taken things one step further most recently with her brand new book, Homemakers (released today!).

I was able to snag an advance copy of the book last month and have since been pouring through its contents and photos. It, really, has become the perfect end note for my daily routine. As a lover of color and great graphic design, the book immediately pulled me in. Brit’s site has always been one of my favorites, if only for the eye candy. I love the clean, crisp lines, and edgy color combinations. Brit is not afraid to live and design boldly and, I think, tends to unconsciously invite us to celebrate right there alongside her with each bright header, sharp photo and thoughtful rolling overlay. I was thrilled to see that the same aesthetic carried over into her book.

But let’s talk content. Homemakers is everything you already love from Brit + Co, but on a deeper level. Within the pages, you’ll find clever life hacks and styling inspiration, as well as closet organization ideas, recipes and, of course, the DIY projects that Brit is known for. What makes it such a particularly easy read is that every page is seeped in Brit’s signature mod style—think: invigorating color balanced by pretty white space, and fonts that steal your heart, even if you don’t know it. Although you might think that you know it all when it comes to homemaking, you’re sure to pick up on something brand new thanks to Brit + her Community.
