Blue Metal Chairs

via

This space is what my dreams are made of – Can we say C-H-A-R-A-C-T-E-R?? Every surface seems to have its own unique texture and pattern, whether it’s expressive or subdued. There’s no shortage of eye candy here and I can’t wait to try out some of the DIY-able tips gleaned from the spread.

1…Take this leaning bookcase for example. It’s a beautiful piece that packs an awful lot of functionality on top of all that class. We actually have a similar one from Crate and Barrel in our bedroom, that we use to house books and a certain new-to-us vintage clock. That said, I so love how it’s used in this kitchen to corral cookbooks and pretty dishware. This is easily something we could recreate at home. In fact, I’m mentally filing away the thought to revisit when we move on to a bigger house…

2…One of the first things my eye was drawn to (aside from that gorgeous tile on the floor) was the cabinet hardware. You know me and gold/brass…Our little love affair is one that goes to great depths and back, so it’s no surprise that I would get a little excitable after seeing them grace these sleek white cabinets. Don’t be surprised when you see something similar in our house very soon. Seriously.

3…These metal cafe style dining chairs have been making a rather large splash in the design world as of late. Everybody’s got them or everybody wants them – Granted, that’s a slight exaggeration, but they definitely seem to be on trend. But rather than looking like they came straight off the truck from Overstock.com, these chairs look like the real deal. Rustic paint, aged patina – Yeah, we’re talking originals here. Either that, or one heck of a DIY attempt to mimic the look of old. I’d say it was a success.
