Although I adore the look of live plants in a home, I really have a hard time keeping them personally. I’m not the best at remembering to water them—that’s problem number one—but the other struggle is our house full of pets. Those four sets of curious paws/teeth and enthusiastic tails are notorious for killing the few plants we’ve attempted to keep, so I had to come up with a solution.
My quick fix? A simple DIY wall mounted plant stand—two of them in fact! Hop over to eHow here in order to get the full low down, and (as always) thanks for taking the time to make the leap to check out my bonus content on eHow!
Those are so so cute Carrie 🙂 I love the idea and wish I could do something like that here. I am afraid to put any holes in the walls since we only have a month and half to go! It’s flying by so fast. xo Kristin
Thanks, Kristin =) And wow! You guys ARE speeding through your time there!
love the look of these
Thanks!
I’d never even heard of an air plant…..I couldn’t figure out where the dish was….ha! Love this idea….they may just be hung next to my pinwheels in my office!
I only found out about air plants within the past year myself! You should definitely make some of the wall mounts – so easy!! =)
Did you get yours locally?
I ordered mine from Sea and Astors on Etsy 🙂
I wish you luck as your kitties get big enough to look up and wonder … how they can get up on these blocks! I love the look, but my girls would be up in an instant … I’ve actually bought open cubes to paint and install as steps for them, inside which I can display small curios that they will hopefully leave alone. And just in case they don’t, I’ve got “museum putty” to secure the bases with.
I just found your blog by accident — really enjoy it.
Thanks for the comment and for stopping by! I love your step idea 🙂
What a great idea! So simple but really beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like it!
