Sauder Styling Solutions

Phase 2 (see the first here) of my collaboration with Sauder is, not surprisingly, my favorite part. Why? Because it’s all about stying! I love a good challenge, and so I spent a fun afternoon at home rearranging, resituating and restacking all kinds of trinkets and accessories to get these alternate looks juuuuuuust right.

First, I moved my upholstered Sauder side chair to my desk. The height was happily just right and the cushy seat was a pretty big upgrade from my acrylic side chairs, which look great but (let’s face it) aren’t the MOST comfortable choice for working from for an extended period of time. A round DIY painted pillow was the finishing touch for this largely utilitarian look.

Next up, I tried moving my glass table from the entryway hall to the back of the sofa. The tall legs and slim profile made it ideal for backing up to the couch, and proved perfect for resting drinks and phones while we settled in for our daily viewings of Parks & Rec. A stack of books, a planter and a few gold touches finished things off.

Finally, I moved the side chair out of the studio and into our bedroom. Topped with yet another accent pillow (this one a recent Target score) it has been a great place to sit to put on shoes in the morning and to toss my cardigan and purse on at the end of the day.

The options for each are virtually endless though…I also could see the table in our bedroom playing host to all of our potted plants or in the bathroom to stack towels and toiletries, and the chair would be great in the living room, too, as extra seating. If you have any ideas of your own, do tell. And thanks to Sauder for letting me experiment!
