DIY Painted Mid-Century Inspired Birdhouses

DIY Painted Mid-Century Inspired Birdhouses | dreamgreendiy.com + @orientaltrading

One of the main things I’ve loved about my new partnership this year with the fine creative folks over at Oriental Trading Company is that I have had the chance to work with supplies and craft tools that I may never have considered otherwise. You see, over the past five years, I’ve gotten a little stuck in my ways with the same old paints and pieces of hardware, but now as I work to come up with new ideas to pitch to my editors at Oriental Trading, I have an entire new world of creative supplies to consider!

Take my latest project, for example. As soon as I laid eye on the wooden birdhouses offered by OTC, I remember feeling like a little lightbulb had gone off. Wasn’t there something sort of retro about the shape of the houses? And things snowballed from there until I came up with and completed a set of DIY Painted Mid-Century Inspired Birdhouses.

I probably would never have reached naturally for wooden birdhouses in the past, but I had a blast stretching my creative muscles to make this sweet decorative item work for me and my mod ways.
