Vintage Rugs I've Got My Eye On

Isn’t there something just so special about a vintage rug? I can’t get enough of that worn-in look, and am particularly drawn to bold, even (dare I say it?) busy styles—think: Turkish, Oushak, Kilim. If it’s faded, patchy, and even a little frayed around the edges, I’m smitten, so it’s no surprise that these 12 vintage rugs caught my eye on Etsy. We actually already have a vintage rug in both of our bathrooms and in the kitchen, too, but that’s not stopping me from dreaming about adding one or two of these to my wishlist for places like the living room and bedrooms.

Which one caught your eye from my list? Or are you not quite as much a fan of vintage rugs as I am? I totally get it. The idea of walking on a decade’s-old floor covering might not be your cup of tea, and I’m the first to admit that there’s a right and wrong way of going about buying a vintage rug.

I tend to prefer purchasing these types of secondhand pieces from online shop owners who all they do is sell vintage rugs. That way you can be more confident in their selection and rug care processes. When in doubt, go ahead and plan to take your new-to-you vintage rug to a local professional cleaner before laying it down in a room so you can be sure that your vintage piece is ready for its “new” life in your home.
