Thank goodness I love the look of hanging planters (like the new Boho Hanging Plant Stand I just made for the team over at Hunker!) because we need them. They have been the best compromise I could come up with that allows me to enjoy greenery in every room of our house while keeping them out of reach from our pets. Our cats loooooooove chewing on soft green leaves, like the ones on the Lemon Maranta Prayer Plant you see pictured in today’s post. I try my best to find non-toxic plants that won’t be a big deal if a kitty finds her way to it with her teeth, but I still prefer to just keep the most scrumptious of plants totally out of reach using hanging planters.
I get asked all the time here and on Instagram how we keep our pets out of our plants and the solution really is to put most of them up high using things like hanging planters. So, if you’ve also been trying to find a solution, hop to Hunker to check out my tutorial for this boho-inspired hanging plant stand. I made it using a simple wooden charger plate purchased on Amazon, and it has been such a game-changer for controlling our cats’ grazing habits. I especially love that it’s not a potted plant—it’s just a plant stand, so you can very easily swap plants in and out as your mood changes (or, let’s be honest, if your first plant bites the dust…).
