It’s currently 4:58 Monday evening and I’m rushing to get dinner on the table before John gets home from work, which feels especially fitting for today’s post all about a new “easy care” rug in our dining room. Point being that dinnertime is generally a little bit rushed and frantic in our household. John and I both work multiple jobs by choice to fulfill our need for an extra creative and variety-packed lifestyle, so our jobs tend to stay active right until 5:00. Meal-planning ahead of time and batch cooking help keep us on task, but it’s still often a struggle to coordinate everything leading up to dinner. Suffice it to say that crumbs, spills, and dropped forkfuls are a regular occurrence in our dining room, so we need a rug that can keep up with us.

We just recently added the Flam Easy Care rug from Revival to our formal dining space in honor of the brand’s eighth birthday sale, and it has been such a breath of fresh air. Not only is the cool blue color palette so refreshing visually, but it’s also so nice to not have to worry about staining this flat, zero pile area rug. Spills come up super easily with a few sprays of gentle carpet cleaner, and it vacuums like a dream, too, since there’s no pile to deal with on top. My favorite part is that the slightly faded, heathered look of the pattern masks any leftover daily crumbs so that I don’t have to worry about cleaning immediately after a meal.

The reason I chose this rug for our dining room—aside from the aforementioned benefits—is that I know it works. We have another rug from this collection in our living room, and it has been so easy to live with and enjoy. Our “Grace” rug has the same flat finish on top and never, ever sheds underfoot or from use with our vacuum. Even stubborn stains are so easy to get out and are no match for our handheld steam cleaner if worse comes to worst, so it’s 100 percent worry-free.
