Turn Plates into DIY Jewelry Stands

Turn Plates into DIY Jewelry Stands

It’s probably not surprising to hear that I can’t get enough of exposed wood grain in décor. I just love a good natural wood tone, and especially appreciate that no two wooden pieces will ever be the same.

Take my new DIY jewelry strand, as an example. This craft came to life after spotting a two-tier wood and metal jewelry stand on Pinterest. Of course I loved the wood detail, but I also loved the functionality aspect. I could picture the piece working as a treat stand during the holidays, too! As with most cool things I spot on Pinterest, I immediately started brainstorming ways to make the piece myself using supplies I happened to have handy, which is how the tutorial for my DIY jewelry stand came to be.

You can read the whole thing (including a linked supply list in case you don’t happen to have what you need) on Hunker this way. But before you go, tell me…Would you buy it or DIY it? And would you use the piece for sugary buffet treats or your favorite jewelry pieces? Let me know in the comments below!

Weekend Inspiration: No.79

Just 19 days to go until Christmas! Are you ready? I’m officially done with holiday gift shopping, and am planning to lay as low as I possibly can until Christmas arrives later this month. I know as soon as I type this sentence out, some emergency deadline is going to pop up in my inbox, but work has miraculously started to slow down—just in time for my annual 2-week winter break. I guess all my hustling in November is paying off!

I’m excited to close up shop and spend lots of extra time with family, especially on Christmas Day when I finally get to see them tear into the gifts I’ve been hoarding for them since the summer! In case you’re still in need of gifting inspiration, today’s weekend link roundup includes all the things on my own wishlist to help spark your creativity.

Weekend Inspiration: No.79:

1. Did you hear?! Collection No.11 is available now in the DGD Pottery Etsy shop! I have one more collection of handmade ceramics scheduled to go live mid-December, but if you want to get things in time for Christmas, now’s the time to put your orders in. See the new items this way.

2. As you know, I’m slowly filling our house with diffusers, which means I’m also stocking up on my favorite oils for the new year. This blend is at the top of my wishlist. If you’ve got your own Vitruvi wishlist going, feel free to use my link and the discount code ‘DREAMGREEN’ to get 20% off.

3. How cute are the new sweatshirt and T-shirt designs that Proper Tee just released in honor of the holidays?! I snagged this one on sale during Black Friday.

4. Have you tried my gift trio shopping idea yet? It really does simplify the process, and makes Christmas shopping less stressful. Get the details here!

5. I didn’t specifically ask for anything decorative this year, but if I were to choose, this tasseled throw blanket is “the one.”

6. I asked for this handy rocker blade as a stocking stuffer to make pizza cutting easier. Don’t tell, but I’ve secretly got my fingers crossed that I see it come December 25!
