The Options: 3D or 2D

Option 1 | Option 2

Happy Friday the 13th! I’m absolutely exhausted from a wild wild week of juggling what feels like 3,000 priorities, and am finding that managing my own schedule is a little harder than anticipated. Still. Despite the stress and near constant overwhelmed state of mind, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I love my job(s).

Speaking of, lets talk about my favorite job of all: styling. I grabbed a shot from Kelli Ryder’s recent Rue-featured home tour, as well as this gorgeous space from A Thoughtful Place. The one thing they have in common (besides being impeccably chic and put together)? A touch of the wild side…

Option 1: I love, love, love that sculptural antlered bust mounted above Kelli’s couch. It’s certainly eye-catching, but it also gives this undeniably collected and worldly vibe to the space. This is what I imagine a feminine, glam version of a gentleman’s lounge would feel like.

Option 2: But if 3D animal decor isn’t within your comfort zone, you could always nod to the idea with a classic animal print. The subtle contrast between the white and gray in this area rug is modern and understated, but definitely makes a statement.

When it comes to faux taxidermy, are you into the 3-dimensional sort, or the 2D?
