Weekend Inspiration: No.96

Fire pit party ideas

Well…today’s my birthday, and even though it’s not going to be quite as exciting as normal since we’re stuck celebrating at home, I’m sure John and I (and the pets!) will make the most of it. Keep scrolling to find out how I’ll be celebrating this weekend, plus I’m sharing a look back at my favorite party inspiration posts from the blog so I can live vicariously through all of those pretty tabletop spreads and festive decorations!

Weekend Inspiration: No.96

1. Do you remember when we set up the fire pit in our backyard and had a marshmallow S’mores night? Whenever we can get stocked back up on Rice Krispies and all the fixings from the grocery store in the next couple of weeks, I think I’m going to have to insist on a mini bonfire spread in honor of my birthday. Better late than never!

2. The main thing I’m doing to celebrate today is planning a fun dinner at home. I’ve been craving pizza like crazy lately, so I think we’re going to unearth some Naan from our freezer and have a build-your-own pizza night. Bring on the cheese, please!

3. This has got to be the most outrageous and thrilling birthday party spreads I’ve ever dreamed up! It was full of color and makes me smile to think back on all the fun little projects that rounded the event out. Now I want to plan another big party photoshoot soon—maybe in the fall.

4. As a true introvert, though, I think I’ll always prefer a quiet gathering at home. Just John, my family, and alllllllllll the cats and dogs that go along with us! My Black, Blush & Gold Fall Dinner Party from a few years back is my idea of perfection—just a few fancy details, plus all my favorite people in one place. Maybe we can recreate this look in our dining room when quarantine is over.

5. This recipe for homemade cheese fondue, that I put together with Better Homes & Gardens back in 2016, is making me second-guess my pizza idea for tonight…Which would you make if you had a choice: pizza or fondue?

6. My sweet sister-in-law sent me a digital Target gift card for my birthday yesterday, and I knew exactly what to order: this book by Geneva Vanderzeil. It’s packed with home projects I can’t wait to tackle, including color palette and décor ideas that I think should translate easily into party-planning.
